KITCHENER, Ont. - John Gibson stopped 37 shots for his first shutout of the season as the Kitchener Rangers edged the London Knights 1-0 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.
It was the first time this season the Rangers (41-22-2) had shut out a team and the first time the Knights (47-17-1) had been blanked.
Eric Ming scored the lone goal of the game with a blast from the right faceoff circle that zipped over London goalie Michael Houser’s left shoulder with 1:55 remaining in the second period. Houser stopped 35 shots in the loss.
Kitchener was 0-for-2 on the power play, while London was couldn't convert in three chances with the man advantage.
